welcome to letter no. 4 — 01.14.26

Staying silent, I am realizing, is not the answer. And yet part of me wants to retreat. To ensure quiet. To disappear for a moment. The state of the world feels so painful and so wrong that I often do not know what to say without fearing I might add to the harm.

But I also know this. Hiding and staying quiet is exactly what allows these terrorizing forces to grow. Silence feeds them.

So what can I do, except acknowledge what is happening and try to process it in the only way I know how. By making work. By telling stories. By creating space to feel and reflect.

Exhibition Announcement

Referencing a shift in viewpoints, TILT/ is an annual group exhibition emphasizing the power of art. Featuring over 30 artists, the exhibition brings together diverse perspectives and immersive experiences through visual art, audio and video installation, sculpture, and select self-guided activities.

Normal Woman and A Cradling Shadow, two of my large-scale works, were accepted into the TILT/ group exhibition. The exhibition will be on view from January 22 to March 8, 2026, at PoMoArts, 2425 St Johns Street, Port Moody. The opening reception takes place on January 22.

Opus Art Supplies Collaboration

I am now an OPUS Art Supplies Ambassador. This means I will be able to offer a special discount code to participants, and I am scheduled to run a live art demonstration on March 14th, based on my Colours of Becoming series. More details to come!

Artificial Memories Project

The Artificial Memories Project archive continues to grow, with new releases added weekly. The story behind the project is essential to understanding the work, and the archive is what binds the entire concept together.

New images were added today. I hope they evoke a sense of nostalgia, or spark something familiar through your own memories, stories, or longings.

What I value most about this project is its conceptual foundation and the conversations it opens. The responses I receive often reflect deeply personal connections. Many people recognize their own experiences in the work, particularly feelings of absence, longing, and complicated relationships with parents.

Procreate Creation

I make things when emotions are overwhelming and the world doesn’t make sense. Making allows me to pause, observe, and translate feeling into something tangible, even when it still makes no sense.
